Inside a Year of Growth: Lessons from Our Working Moms Pursuit Pilot Group
At The Grand, we know what it feels like to straddle the demands of a high-impact career and the daily intensity of motherhood. That’s why we launched the Working Moms Pursuit Pilot Group — a curated coaching journey designed to give ambitious mothers the space, support, and structure they need to thrive both professionally and personally.
Over the course of 12 months, this inaugural pilot group met for monthly sessions, guided by expert coaching, proven frameworks, and a shared desire to live with greater clarity, confidence, and connection. Their experience reflects what’s possible when women are given space to reconnect with themselves and each other — not in spite of motherhood, but because of it.
In this post, we’re sharing what happened inside that journey: the breakthroughs, the bonding, and the brave conversations that defined the first-ever Working Moms Pursuit experience.
What This Group Needed
From day one, this group named the tension: They were holding everything — and no one was holding them.
What they craved was a consistent space to breathe, reflect, and remember who they are outside of the roles they carry. Throughout the year, sessions touched on burnout recovery, transitions, family dynamics, career ambition, and self-compassion. One member said it best:
“The group kept me grounded and helped me see that I could live life according to my values and my intentions.”
A Look Inside the 12-Session Journey
1. Timeline of Your Life
Set the tone for reflection, connection, and visibility. Members surfaced patterns, identity threads, and unmet needs.
“Looking back at my timeline, the moments of peaks all had me at the forefront of my community — it’s exhausting and rewarding.”
2. Future Self Visualization
Helped members connect to long-term vision and reframe short-term stress.
“It gave me peace to understand that my day-to-day worries are not real. I'm doing enough and I have enough.”
3. Burnout Recovery & Limiting Beliefs
Revealed how fear of burnout causes self-sabotage and hesitation to pursue growth.
“I’m avoiding applying to dream roles because I’m afraid they’ll burn me out.”
4. Odyssey Plans
Mapped multiple possible life paths. Invited creativity and experimentation.
“How do we live more of our visions for future lives now?”
5. Navigating Transitions
Explored endings, beginnings, and inner permission to shift at your own pace.
“Shift from ‘I have to’ to ‘I get to’ to help my daily mindset.”
6. Values Hierarchy
Helped members define what truly matters and where they feel out of alignment.
“I feel abundance when I live according to my values.”
7. Sharing Your Truth
Centered authenticity and the courage to speak up without managing others’ feelings.
“I can't control how others will react — only how I show up.”
8. Communication Challenges
Focused on parenting styles and creating healthy dialogue with partners. Provided scripts and strategies for real-world use.
9. In-Law Dynamics
Held space for complex family expectations and emotional release.
“Write the letter you’ll never send. Get it out of your body.”
10. Child Advocacy
Helped moms tap into their own voice and validate their instincts.
“Quiet my insecurities and focus on my clear intentions.”
11. Trusting Your Inner Voice
Reclaimed internal authority and rejected comparison traps.
“Be your own inspiration.”
12. Final Reflections
Closed with deep gratitude, personal truths, and celebration.
“This group carried me through major transitions — and reminded me I could live by my own design.”

The Most Impactful Sessions
These sessions consistently stood out for depth, relevance, and resonance:
- Session 3 – Burnout Recovery & Limiting Beliefs: Addressed the fear of “taking swings” after burnout.
- Session 5 – Navigating Transitions: Gave members the grace and language to move through uncertainty.
- Session 9 – In-Law Dynamics: Provided an emotional outlet that was both cathartic and practical.
- Session 12 – Final Reflections: Left members feeling seen, celebrated, and changed. 100% attendance spoke volumes.
“In the worst case, this was day-altering. In the best case, life-altering.”
Why It Matters
This group didn’t need more productivity hacks. They needed a space where they could show up fully — as ambitious women, intentional mothers, and complex humans navigating big questions.
The Grand Pursuit is designed to offer that space. Our pilot group is proof of how powerful it can be.
